After the sudden departure of GertJan van Achterbergh as Pipe Major, the band needed a Pipe Major. Looking at the fact that within two weeks we had to play at the Continental Contest, swift action was needed. Luckily we found Marc Stoop and Shawn Scarlett available to temporarely take over the musical leadership of the band.

As Marc Stoop is already a well known figure in our pipeband scene, is Shawn not so long connected with the band. He joined the City of Amsterdam Pipe band in 2009, when he came to Holland where he lives in Nijmegen. Shawn comes from the westcoast of the USA, from the City of San Francisco where played for the Prince Charles Pipe Band. A band that we've seen a number of times in Scotland during the Worlds'.
